Pakistan Highlighted at Senate of Canada During Asian Heritage Month Celebrations
High Commission Showcases Pakistan’s Culture, Tourism, and Investment Opportunities in Ottawa

The High Commission of Pakistan participated in the “Pakistan” event organized by Hon. Senator Salma Attaullahjan in the Senators Chamber at the Senate of Canada building in Ottawa on May 6, 2026, as part of the month-long Asian Heritage Month celebrations in Canada.
Around 80 distinguished guests attended the special event, including Hon’ble Senators, Members of the House of Commons, Canadian dignitaries, representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Pakistani community, and local media representatives.
During the event, the High Commission presented publicity material and a special video clip highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, traditional arts, tourism destinations, adventure sports, and cuisine.
High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem expressed gratitude to Hon. Senator Salma Attaullahjan for organizing the “Pakistan” event at the prestigious Senate of Canada premises.
In his remarks, the High Commissioner emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary exchanges between Pakistan and Canada through the existing Parliamentary Friendship Groups of both countries.
He also highlighted the immense opportunities available for enhancing Pakistan-Canada relations in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, and economic cooperation for mutual benefit.
The event served as an important platform to promote Pakistan’s positive image, cultural diversity, and growing potential for bilateral collaboration with Canada.
