Situation Tense in Khad Kocha, Mastung; Helicopter Flights Observed, Emergency Imposed at DHQ Hospital
Reports of intense clashes between security forces and miscreants have been received from Khad Kocha, a suburban area of Mastung district in Balochistan, following which the Quetta-Karachi National Highway has been closed for all types of traffic.
According to sources, a convoy of security forces was targeted at three different locations in the outskirts of Khad Kocha – Kund Umrani, Garo, and Anjiri – after which heavy exchange of fire is underway between both sides following retaliatory action by the forces. Eyewitnesses have reported seeing Pakistan Army helicopters flying towards the affected areas.
In view of the security situation, the district administration has imposed an emergency at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Mastung.
On the special directives of Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Mastung, Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mirwani, leave of all doctors, paramedical staff and other medical personnel has been cancelled with immediate effect and they have been called on duty, while all ambulances have been ordered to remain on high alert to deal with any emergency situation promptly.
On the other hand, as a security measure, traffic on the National Highway has been completely suspended and strict restrictions have been imposed on the movement of civilians in sensitive areas.
However, so far no official confirmation or details have been issued at the government level regarding the alleged attacks, any casualties, or the ongoing operation. Concerned authorities state that the situation is being closely monitored and further information is awaited.
