Jose Ramirez Reaches 1,000 Career RBIs for Cleveland Guardians

CLEVELAND: Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez reached another major career milestone Friday night, becoming only the second player in franchise history to record 1,000 runs batted in.

Ramirez reached the mark with a solo home run in the sixth inning during Cleveland’s 5-3 victory over the Athletics. The achievement puts him alongside Earl Averill as the only players in Guardians history to reach 1,000 career RBIs.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt praised Ramirez’s remarkable consistency and longevity, noting that the third baseman’s production has remained at an elite level throughout his career.

Ramirez has been one of Major League Baseball’s most productive hitters since entering the league. He has recorded more extra-base hits than any other MLB player since 2017, further highlighting his combination of power and consistency.

The 1,000-RBI milestone also places Ramirez among an exclusive group of active major leaguers. He is now the 12th active MLB player to reach the mark.

Ramirez is also closing in on another Cleveland record. He is currently 84 RBIs behind Earl Averill, who played for Cleveland from 1929 through 1939. With Ramirez continuing to add to his career totals, he could eventually surpass Averill across several major offensive categories.

The latest milestone adds another significant achievement to Ramirez’s Cleveland career and reinforces his status as one of the franchise’s most accomplished offensive players.
