Eliminating Drugs from Educational Institutions is Our Top Priority: Brigadier Sikandar Hayat

Protecting the Youth is a Collective Responsibility of Society: Regional Director Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab

Regional Director Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Punjab, Brigadier Sikandar Hayat, has termed drug dealers as enemies of society and stated that they are increasingly targeting young people through educational institutions. He said that educational institutions are centers of learning and character-building; however, unfortunately, drug abuse is becoming a serious issue within these institutions, pushing the younger generation towards destruction.

Talking to journalists, Brigadier Sikandar Hayat said that practical measures are being taken to make educational institutions drug-free. He emphasized that to protect young people from drug abuse, the administrations of educational institutions, teachers, parents, media, civil society, and all segments of society must play a collective role in addressing this challenge so that a safe and bright future can be ensured for the younger generation.

He further stated that ANF Punjab is providing every possible facility and support to educational institutions in order to ensure a safe and healthy academic environment for students. He added that the Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab is playing its full role in making educational institutions, as well as society at large, free from drugs.

Brigadier Sikandar Hayat said that ANF Punjab is regularly conducting awareness campaigns regarding the harmful effects of drugs. In collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and educational administrations, practical steps are being taken to eradicate the menace of drugs from educational institutions and to curb the activities of drug traffickers.
He stressed that safeguarding the younger generation from drugs is not only the responsibility of ANF Punjab but of every citizen. Referring to the growing concern of drug use among students, he said that as a nation, we must realize our responsibility and pledge to protect every child as if they were our own, regardless of whose child they may be. By doing so, society can be made safer and more secure.


He concluded by saying that protecting the younger generation and providing them with a safe and bright future is a collective responsibility of the entire society.
