Former PTI Leader Waleed Akhtar Joins JUI-S with Family, Hundreds of Supporters
(By Anwer Zeb Khan, Bureau Chief Peshawar) PESHAWAR/ NOWSHERA: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and close associate of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, prominent Nowshera political and social figure Muhammad Waleed Akhtar has formally joined the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami-ul-Haq group) along with his family and hundreds of supporters.Waleed Akhtar announced his decision at a joining ceremony held at his residence in Nowshera Kalan, expressing full confidence in the leadership of JUI-S chief Maulana Abdul Haq Thani.A large number of local residents, political and social personalities and party workers attended the ceremony.JUI-S Amir Maulana Abdul Haq Thani, Central General Secretary Maulana Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah, Central Patron and District Amir Maulana Irfan-ul-Haq Haqqani, Provincial General Secretary Maulana Abdul Hai Haqqani and District General Secretary Mufti Muhammad Amin Hakeem were among the speakers.The leaders welcomed Muhammad Waleed Akhtar and his associates to the JUI-S and said the party’s political, religious and public role in Nowshera would be further strengthened and organised.
The newly joined members also expressed their confidence in the party leadership and pledged to play their role in advancing the party’s activities in the district.
