Vehari NADRA Office Faces Mismanagement and Corruption, Citizens Demand Immediate Action

By Sajid Ch Vehari:

The NADRA office in Vehari has become a hub of mismanagement, causing severe difficulties for citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. The dominance of a “sifarish” (favoritism) culture and the influence of tout mafias have exacerbated the situation, leaving ordinary citizens to suffer in the heat while fasting. Many citizens, who line up early in the morning, are forced to return home disappointed by evening due to the unprofessional behavior and misuse of authority by NADRA staff.
Citizens have expressed their frustration over the mistreatment and unjust practices at the Vehari NADRA office. Despite the sacred month of Ramadan, there has been no improvement in the behavior of the staff. The influence of touts and the favoritism culture have worsened the situation, with citizens facing extreme inconvenience. Those who arrive early in the morning are often sent back disappointed by the evening, as the staff allegedly prioritizes individuals with connections or those who pay bribes.
Citizens have accused the NADRA staff of exploiting their local influence and misusing their authority. Speaking to the media, citizens revealed that they are pushed around from morning till evening, while those with connections or touts are allowed entry into the office with ease. When attempts were made to seek a response from the in-charge of the Vehari NADRA office, they outright refused to comment.
The citizens have appealed to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate notice of the situation. They demand the replacement of the current staff with honest and competent officials to address the public’s grievances. Due to mismanagement, poor administration, and the humiliation of citizens, the Vehari NADRA office has become a center of problems, and urgent action is needed to resolve these issues.
