
FDA Reviews Public Utility Services in Private Housing Schemes, Ensures Strict Action Against Illegal Occupations

On the instructions of Director General Faisalabad Development Authority(FDA) Muhammad Asif Ch, Additional Director FDA General Qaiser Abbas Rind reviewed the updated situation of public utility services sites in private housing schemes in a meeting. The meeting was attended by Director Finance Yasir Ijaz Chatha, Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, Deputy Director Estate Management Mian Asad Majeed and other officers. The ADG, while taking cognizance of the details of the size of public utility plots,it’s nature, location, current use and ground condition of the plots allocated for education, health, solid waste management, WASA services and other utility services in various housing schemes, ordered that the protection and maintenance of these plots of public interest should be ensured. He said that Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry issued strict instructions in this regard to protect government interests, which should be strictly followed and the monitoring process should be accelerated. He said that there should be no illegal occupation of public utility services plots in any private housing scheme and action should be taken against the managements of the housing society who use them for any purpose other than the stipulated purposes. In this regard, there should be no delay in clearing the government land of public interest by demolishing the illegal constructions. He stressed that the FDA should display written boards on the plots of public utility services stating that they are government land. He said that all legal means should be used to protect the plots of public utility services and criminal cases should be registered against the developers who do not stop. The ADG strongly advised to keep the public interest areas in private housing schemes free from any illegal occupation and warned that in case of using, occupying or illegal construction of the plots of public utility services for other purposes, the concerned inspector will be responsible and no complicity will be tolerated in this regard.
