Punjab CM Agriculture Internship Scheme: Phase III Training Completed in Attock
Attock (Bureau Report: Ijaz-ul-Hassan): A dignified ceremony was organized under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Agriculture Internship Scheme in Attock to mark the successful completion of internships by Phase II interns and the completion of induction training for Phase III interns under the Chief Minister’s Internship Scheme for Agricultural Graduates.
Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Aftab Ahmed was the chief guest at the ceremony.
On the occasion, Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Dr. Muhammad Javed welcomed the chief guest and participants. He appreciated Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for the development of the agriculture sector and the welfare of young people.
Dr. Muhammad Javed said that the Punjab Chief Minister’s Internship Scheme is providing agricultural graduates with an excellent opportunity to apply their skills in the practical field. He added that the scheme is helping bridge the gap between agricultural education and the practical problems faced by farmers.
The ceremony was informed that under Phase III of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Internship Scheme, the monthly stipend for agricultural graduates has been increased from Rs60,000 to Rs70,000. The increase is aimed at encouraging young agricultural graduates and recognizing their services.
The outgoing Phase II interns presented reports based on their field activities and performance. They briefed participants about their work in profiling and facilitating farmers for the Punjab Chief Minister’s Kisan Card, providing assistance regarding the Green Tractor Scheme, organizing plant clinics and farmer training programs at the rural level, and motivating and mobilizing farmers for crop production competitions at district and provincial levels.
The newly inducted Phase III interns expressed their commitment to performing their responsibilities effectively as frontline representatives of the Agriculture Extension Department. They said they would work to take modern agricultural practices and scientific knowledge to farmers.
The interns will also play their role in identifying crop, pest, soil and other agricultural problems at the field level and providing farmers with modern and research-based agricultural solutions.
Chief guest MNA Sheikh Aftab Ahmed appreciated the initiatives being taken by the Punjab government for the improvement of the agriculture sector and the welfare of farmers. He also appreciated the training and guidance being provided to young agricultural graduates by the Agriculture Extension Department in Attock.
Sheikh Aftab Ahmed expressed hope that these young graduates would play an effective role in improving agricultural production, promoting farmers’ prosperity and strengthening food security in Punjab.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, chief guest Sheikh Aftab Ahmed distributed certificates to Phase II interns in recognition of their successful completion of the internship.
The Agriculture Extension Department Attock congratulated all Phase II interns on completing their internship and welcomed the new Phase III interns, extending its best wishes for their future responsibilities and professional development.
