Pakistani delegation led by Punjab housing minister Bilal Yasin visits Denmark

Lahore: A high-level Pakistani delegation led by Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin is on an official visit to Denmark to study advanced water management, sewerage systems, wastewater treatment and modern urban infrastructure through a series of technical meetings, institutional visits and interactive sessions.The delegation includes Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Barrister Sultan Tariq Bajwa, Chairman WASA Punjab Authority Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan, Director General WASA Punjab Tayyab Farid, Managing Director WASA Faisalabad Saqib Raza, Project Director of the Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant Project Awais Jamal and Deputy Project Director Faizan Shakoor.During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Danish government officials, water sector experts and representatives of leading institutions to discuss sustainable water resource management, modern sewerage networks, wastewater treatment technologies, environmentally friendly solutions, energy-efficient systems and the development of resilient urban infrastructure.The Pakistani delegation also received detailed briefings on state-of-the-art water treatment plants, advanced sewerage networks, water recycling systems, digital monitoring technologies and environmentally sustainable infrastructure models. Delegates closely examined Denmark’s internationally recognized best practices and expressed keen interest in adopting these innovative solutions to improve water supply and sewerage services across Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Minister Bilal Yasin said the Punjab Government is committed to providing world-class water supply and sanitation services by benefiting from modern technologies and international expertise. He added that such study visits play a vital role in strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing technical skills and supporting the effective planning and implementation of future development projects.Members of the delegation reaffirmed their commitment to utilizing Denmark’s successful models and technical expertise to further improve water supply, wastewater treatment and urban infrastructure projects in Punjab, ensuring they become more efficient, sustainable and responsive to the needs of the public.
