Ahsan Iqbal Highlights Pakistan’s Progress, Military Strength, and Economic Goals at Pakistan Day in Jeddah Event
Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, praised Pakistan’s technological advancements, military strength, and enduring partnership with Saudi Arabia while addressing a large gathering of the Pakistan community in Jeddah on the occasion of Pakistan Day. The event was organized by the focal person of the Prime Minister’s Youth Wing, Malik Manzoor Awan, and attended by hundreds of overseas Pakistanis.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the importance of knowledge in technology in the modern era. “Due to our faith in the fight for justice and new technology, we shot down eleven enemy planes,” he stated, highlighting Pakistan’s military readiness and technological capabilities. He praised Marshal Asim Munir for protecting the country’s borders with full force and acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistan’s youth in defending the nation. “The families of our martyrs are the pride of Pakistan,” he added, noting his personal visits to the families of martyrs in his constituency. The minister also spoke about Pakistan’s economic challenges amid global fluctuations in oil prices and stated that the government is taking proactive measures through savings schemes and strategic planning. He said, “Our goal is to increase exports from 400 billion dollars to 1000 billion dollars, strengthening Pakistan’s economic position globally.”
He stressed the importance of unity, saying, “Our political addresses may differ, but everyone’s post office is one—Pakistan.” He encouraged overseas Pakistanis to continue contributing to the nation’s growth and development. Ahsan Iqbal praised the everlasting friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting that the bond strengthens the country’s regional and global standing. The minister addressed the community after performing Umrah, highlighting Pakistan’s shared values and cooperation with the Kingdom. The event saw addresses by National Assembly members Shumaila Rana, Sharjeel Rao, Khawaja Muhammad Islam, and Rana Muhammad Ashraf. PPP UK’s Khawaja Kaleem and other hosts including Malik Manzoor Awan, Abdul Khaliq Lak, and Hanif Khan also participated, while PTI member Anjum Warraich directed the event.
