TOBA TEK SINGH: District Health and Population Welfare Officer Toba Tek Singh Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem has said that Muharram-ul-Haram, the first and one of the most sacred months of the Islamic year, teaches the values of patience, perseverance, tolerance, sacrifice, brotherhood and steadfastness in upholding the truth.
He said that the tragedy of Karbala is a shining chapter in Islamic history, where Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions rendered unparalleled sacrifices for the supremacy of Islam, truth, justice and righteousness.Their eternal sacrifices, he added, will continue to serve as a guiding light for humanity for generations to come.

Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem said that the message of Muharram is not limited to remembrance and mourning alone; it also inspires people to stand firmly against oppression, injustice and falsehood to support the truth and to demonstrate patience and resilience in every circumstance. He said that the life and teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) provide a timeless lesson that adherence to principles, even in the face of severe trials and hardships, is the true path to success.He emphasized that during the holy month of Muharram, all segments of society should promote unity, harmony, religious tolerance and mutual respect to maintain an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood. He said that discouraging sectarianism, hatred and elements that seek to create division and unrest is a collective responsibility of every citizen.The District Health and Population Welfare Officer further stated that, in accordance with the directives of the Punjab Government, the Health and Population Welfare Department is fully committed to providing the best possible medical facilities to mourners, procession participants and the general public during Muharram-ul-Haram. Medical camps, first-aid facilities, availability of medicines and emergency response services are being kept fully operational at various locations to ensure prompt assistance in any emergency situation.

He appealed to citizens to play their role in maintaining law and order, observing cleanliness, cooperating with the district administration and law enforcement agencies and promoting the values of tolerance and brotherhood during Muharram. He concluded that Muharram teaches the lessons of unity, patience, courage and sacrifice and by following these principles, society can move towards lasting peace, stability and collective welfare.
