(By Mian Iftikhar Ahmad)

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has taken a firm and unambiguous position on the Iran issue, stating that the United Kingdom will not participate in any potential war against Iran, he emphasized that despite intense diplomatic and political pressure from the United States, the UK will shape its foreign policy independently and will not engage in any action that could further escalate tensions and instability in the region, this stance comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are rising rapidly and major global powers are aligning themselves based on strategic interests.

Keir Starmer further clarified that the United Kingdom will not support any move to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting its critical importance as a key route for global trade and energy supplies, he warned that any disruption in this vital passage could trigger a severe global economic crisis, including sharp increases in oil prices, disruptions in trade flows, and instability in international supply chains, the UK government has reiterated that diplomatic engagement, dialogue, and de-escalation remain the only viable path forward, urging all parties to exercise restraint and avoid pushing the region toward another major conflict.
