Thousands of tourists have flocked to Murree over the weekend, triggering severe traffic congestion on the Murree Expressway and major roads as authorities brace for an even larger influx in the coming days.
Murree is experiencing a massive influx of tourists over the weekend, leading to heavy traffic jams on the Murree Expressway and several key roads leading to the popular hill station.
Long queues of vehicles have caused major delays, leaving tourists and commuters stranded as traffic moves slowly on both entry and exit routes.
Authorities Expect More Visitors
Officials anticipate that the number of visitors will continue to rise during the holiday period, increasing pressure on Murree’s already congested road network.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, expect delays and follow traffic management instructions issued by authorities.
Traffic Police Intensify Enforcement
Amid the heavy tourist rush, the City Traffic Police Murree has intensified its enforcement campaign against motorists driving without valid licences.
The operation was launched on the directives of Muhammad Waqas Nazir and is being supervised by Munir Ahmed Hashmi.
During the crackdown, traffic police issued hundreds of challan tickets to motorcyclists and other motorists found violating traffic regulations, while legal action is also being initiated against offenders.
Authorities have urged drivers to obey traffic laws and cooperate with officials to help ease congestion during the busy holiday season.
