Ceremony Held in Jubail Honoring Former Pakistan All‑Rounder Abdul Razzaq

A graceful ceremony was held in the industrial city of Jubail, Saudi Arabia, to honor former Pakistan cricket team all‑rounder Abdul Razzaq, attended by cricketers, sports personalities, representatives of the Saudi and Pakistani communities, and a large number of cricket enthusiasts.

Organized by the Jubail Cricket Association (JCA), the event aimed not only to pay tribute to Razzaq’s contributions to Pakistan cricket but also to highlight ongoing efforts to promote the sport in Saudi Arabia.

Addressing the gathering, JCA President Muaz Munir said that young players from Pakistan and other Asian countries living in Jubail possess immense cricketing talent. He noted that the association regularly conducts cricket tournaments, provides modern facilities, and places special emphasis on players’ fitness to help nurture this potential.

He added that inviting renowned Pakistani cricketers for mentoring has become a tradition. So far, stars such as Shoaib Akhtar, Javed Miandad, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mohammad Yousuf, and Sana Mir have visited Jubail to train and encourage young players. Abdul Razzaq, he said, is also a valuable national asset and an inspiring role model for the youth.

Speaking at the ceremony, Razzaq expressed satisfaction over the rapid development of cricket in Jubail. He said that cooperation between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Saudi Cricket Federation will pave the way for hosting international‑standard cricket in Saudi Arabia, creating more opportunities for local talent to showcase their skills and progress to the global stage.

JCA Media & Event Manager Ahmed Ejaz, Imran Shafi, and other speakers also addressed the event, appreciating the association’s efforts to promote cricket in the Kingdom.

The ceremony concluded with a special cake‑cutting in honor of Abdul Razzaq.
