Punjab Government Committed to Ensuring Essential Commodities at Official Prices in Attock: ADC Anil Saeed

ATTOCK (Bureau Chief Ejaz-ul-Hassan): Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Attock, Anil Saeed, has said that, in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the district administration will ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-approved prices across the district.

He emphasized that indiscriminate action will continue against artificial inflation, hoarding, and profiteering, adding that providing maximum relief to the public remains the district administration’s top priority.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of Price Control Magistrates at the DC Office Attock. The meeting reviewed the prices of essential food items, market monitoring, price control measures, field inspections, actions taken against overcharging traders, and the strategy for strengthening price enforcement across the district.

All Price Control Magistrates of the district attended the meeting.

Anil Saeed directed all magistrates to conduct daily inspections of markets, fruit and vegetable bazaars, grocery stores, and other commercial centers, ensuring strict implementation of official price lists.

He said that providing quality essential commodities to the public at fixed prices is a fundamental responsibility of the district administration, and no negligence or laxity in this regard will be tolerated.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner instructed the magistrates to perform their duties with integrity, transparency, and professionalism, and to initiate immediate legal action against anyone violating government price regulations.

He further stressed that operations against profiteers, hoarders, and traders violating official price lists should be intensified to provide genuine relief to consumers.

During the meeting, Price Control Magistrates also briefed the chair on enforcement activities, market inspections, challenges, and recommendations from their respective tehsils.

Concluding the meeting, Anil Saeed directed the concerned officials to maintain continuous market surveillance, promptly address public complaints, effectively implement the Punjab Government’s price control policy, and ensure that public interest remains the foremost priority.
