Facebook introduces a dedicated Seller app, AI-generated listings, video-first browsing, and free profile verification as Meta expands its e-commerce strategy.
Meta has announced a series of major updates to Facebook Marketplace as the online buying and selling platform marks its 10th anniversary. The company introduced a new Seller app, expanded artificial intelligence (AI) features, and revealed plans to test a TikTok-style video experience aimed at improving shopping and user engagement.
The latest announcements reflect Meta’s growing focus on AI-powered commerce and content discovery across Facebook.
Meta Launches Dedicated Seller App
The biggest addition is the new Seller app, designed specifically for users who frequently buy and sell products on Facebook Marketplace.
Using AI, the app can automatically generate product titles, descriptions, and suggested prices after sellers upload just a few photos. The feature is intended to make creating listings faster while helping sellers reach potential buyers more efficiently.
The app also supports bulk listing uploads, allowing users to post multiple products simultaneously instead of creating listings one by one.
AI Dashboard Simplifies Selling
Seller includes a centralized dashboard where users can monitor every stage of the selling process.
The dashboard highlights buyer inquiries, products awaiting shipment, and listings that may benefit from price adjustments to improve sales.
Buyer conversations are organized by individual listings inside a single inbox, making it easier for sellers to manage customer communication without missing important messages.
Currently, the Seller app is available to U.S. users aged 18 and older. Existing Marketplace listings, conversations, and sales history are automatically imported when users sign in.
Although Marketplace remains accessible through the standard Facebook app, Seller offers dedicated tools aimed at professional and high-volume sellers.
Facebook to Test TikTok-Style Video Feed
Later this year, Meta plans to begin testing a new video-first Facebook home screen in selected international markets.
Under the new design, full-screen videos will automatically play when users open the app, creating an experience similar to TikTok.
Users who prefer Facebook’s traditional feed will still have access through a separate tab and can choose to opt out of the new interface.
A wider rollout, including the United States, could follow next year.
Free Facebook Verified Badge Introduced
Meta also announced that Facebook Verified will become available as a free feature starting Monday.
Instead of requiring a paid subscription, users can verify their identity by submitting a selfie to confirm they are a real person.
The company says the verification badge is intended to increase trust between buyers and sellers on Marketplace while also improving authenticity across Facebook’s dating and social features.
New AI Tools for Facebook Groups and Creators
Meta is also expanding AI across other Facebook services.
Its experimental Forum app for Facebook Groups now includes a Group Ask feature alongside an Admin AI assistant to help moderators manage online communities more efficiently.
Meanwhile, content creators will gain access to a redesigned Creator Studio, offering personalized recommendations and analytics designed to help grow audiences and improve content performance.
The updates highlight Meta’s broader strategy of integrating artificial intelligence into commerce, content creation, and community management as competition in social media and online marketplaces continues to intensify
