35 Bodies Recovered After Blast in Quetta Coal Mine

All 35 bodies of the miners who were trapped due to an accident in a coal mine in the Sorange area of Quetta district, Balochistan, have been recovered.

According to government officials, the accident took place in a coal mine in the Sorange area of Quetta district.
A senior government official said that he had spoken to the mine owners, who said that more than 35 miners were present in the mine. The bodies were immediately recovered and sent to their native areas.
The official did not rule out the possibility of an increase in casualties due to the intensity of the blast and the lack of modern rescue facilities.
Sorange is located about 40 kilometers east of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. It is a mountainous area where a large number of coal mines are located.
Accidents in coal mines have occurred in the past as well in Sorange and its surrounding areas.
Due to the absence of other modern industries, coal mining is a major industry in Balochistan. The coal mines are mostly located in the districts of Quetta, Kachhi, Harnai and Dukki, where thousands of miners directly and indirectly consider it as a source of livelihood.
