and a commendation certificate to WASA Managing Director Ali Ahmed, acknowledging the exceptional support and timely assistance provided by WASA to the jail during the 2026 monsoon season. In view of the heavy rains during July and August 2026, the WASA team ensured immediate water drainage services and the provision of necessary machinery and manpower to the District Jail. WASA’s role during this emergency proved pivotal in maintaining the jail’s security and ensuring the smooth continuation of routine operations. WASA Managing Director Ali Ahmed, accompanied by Superintendent Haq Nawaz, conducted a special survey of the jail and inspected critical points both inside and outside the facility. On this occasion, he pledged to continue extending full cooperation to the jail administration in the future. In his message, the Superintendent of District Jail Mandi Bahauddin stated that the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz—to transform jails into safe, secure, and welfare-oriented institutions—serves as their guiding principle. The professionalism and proactive coordination demonstrated by WASA, in light of her directives, serve as a practical manifestation of the Punjab Government’s public service agenda. He expressed hope that both institutions would continue this mission of public service with the same spirit in the future. Finally, Superintendent Haq Nawaz remarked that the letter of appreciation issued to WASA Managing Director Ali Ahmed is not merely a document; rather, it stands as a shining example of mutual trust, solidarity, and cooperation between the two institutions, aligned with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision of “Safe Jails – Safe Society.” It is precisely this kind of exemplary coordination that enables us to ensure the safety of the lives and property of both prisoners and staff during difficult situations.
