WASA Faisalabad has announced a significant step towards modernizing the city’s sewage system. Managing Director WASA, Saheel Qadir Cheema, stated that the pumping machinery at the city’s disposal stations will be upgraded with advanced technology to improve sewage disposal efficiency and significantly reduce energy costs.
Representatives of a Japanese company met with the MD at the WASA Head Office and provided a detailed briefing on the modern pumping machinery. The briefing highlighted that the machinery has been developed using cutting-edge technology to meet high performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability standards, particularly in light of global climate change challenges.
MD WASA emphasized that upgrading the pumping machinery is a timely necessity, and a comprehensive plan is being formulated for this purpose. He also noted that the same Japanese company had successfully completed the machinery replacement project for the Chunian and Terminal Reservoir lines, which significantly enhanced WASA’s operational efficiency.
Saheel Qadir Cheema further stated that the installation of the modern machinery will increase the capacity of disposal stations, resolve citizens’ sewage issues more efficiently, and reduce the organization’s energy expenses, which is crucial given current economic conditions.
Deputy Managing Director Engineering, Saqib Raza, along with other officials, were also present during the meeting.
