Tenders for 8 projects of the Highway Department related to Okara district were opened in the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Director Development and Finance Shafiq Ahmed Dogar. All the concerned officers were present in the meeting. According to the details, the cost of construction and repair of 8 km long metal road from Chak No. 30/1AL to Chak 26/D has been estimated at Rs 288.8 million. Similarly, the construction and repair of 24 km long road from Jowarian Pul Multan Road to Hujra Shergarh Road via H Plot, Hussain Garh, Rehmat Wala, 17/D and 18D has been estimated at Rs 578.3 million. Similarly, the construction and repair of the 5-km long road from Shergarh Bypass to Shergarh/Rahmatwala Road to Chunian to Akhtarabad Shergarh has been estimated at Rs 136 million. The 7-km long road from Sohag Bridge to Shahamd Bridge via Chak Ahmed Khan Khokhar has been estimated at Rs 196 million. The 2-km long road from Jandrak Nol Bridge Road via Pirandi Basti to Kot Sultanpur has been estimated at Rs 68 million, which will be completed in six months. Similarly, the construction and repair of the 8.2-km long road from Okara-Faisalabad Road (Kangra Wala Bridge) to Akbar Chowk has been estimated at Rs 292 million. The 19.20-km long road from Satgarh to Gogira Road via Jabuka has been estimated at Rs 196 million. Similarly, the construction of drain along the road from H Plot to Akhtarabad Shergarh Road via 22/1-AL, 23/1-AL and 24/1-AL roads and the road will cost Rs 202.3 million. All the schemes will be completed in one year.
