Suicide Blast at Islamabad Imambargah: 31 Killed, 169 Injured

Islamabad: A horrific suicide blast occurred near an Imambargah in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad, on Friday, leaving 31 people dead and 169 injured, according to authorities. The explosion was so powerful that nearby buildings and vehicles were damaged. Senior officials from the district administration and police immediately reached the site to assess the situation.

Emergency services were declared in all hospitals, and the injured are being transported to various medical facilities, including PIMS Hospital. Several victims are reported to be in critical condition. The blast site has been completely sealed off, and a thorough investigation has been initiated.

Initial reports confirm that the deceased include the cousin of IG Islamabad Police. Authorities have stated that all aspects of the incident are being investigated and that those responsible will be apprehended soon. The blast highlights ongoing security challenges in Islamabad and raises concerns over the safety of religious sites in the capital.
