Important Meeting of Price Control Magistrates Held Under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner During Ramadan

Faisalabad: An important meeting of Price Control Magistrates was held in Faisalabad under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir to ensure effective price control during the holy month of Ramadan. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Fazal Abbas, Assistant Commissioners, Price Control Magistrates, and officers of relevant departments. It was decided that the performance of Price Control Magistrates would be monitored on a daily basis. The Deputy Commissioner directed that meetings would be held twice a day—morning and evening—to review enforcement actions. He emphasized that price lists must be prominently displayed at all shops. In case of violations, authorities were instructed not to limit action to fines only but also to make arrests and seal shops where necessary.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed that “Para” staff would remain present in markets from morning till night throughout Ramadan to ensure strict monitoring of prices and quality. It was also decided to further activate the control room for the immediate redressal of public complaints.Large stores and mega marts have been instructed to establish special discount counters. The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that there would be no compromise on the quality of food items at discount counters. The Market Committee was directed to prevent unjustified price hikes.He also ordered that the best possible arrangements be ensured to provide relief to fasting citizens and directed that supervisors must remain present at all Sahulat Bazaars to facilitate the public during Ramadan.
