Faisalabad: Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government has reaffirmed its strong commitment to make Pakistan polio-free, stated Chief Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication Azma Kardar while speaking to the media, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir. Azma Kardar urged parents to fully cooperate with polio teams, emphasizing that two drops of the polio vaccine can protect children from lifelong disability. She clarified that she is personally overseeing the polio campaign across Punjab and that no negligence or lapses will be tolerated in this national mission. The focal person described polio workers as true heroes who are going door-to-door under challenging conditions to administer polio drops to children and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in false reporting or dereliction of duties during the campaign. Azma Kardar highlighted the indispensable role of the media in raising public awareness and said that responsible media coverage can play a key role in ensuring campaign success. She reviewed the arrangements for the polio campaign in Faisalabad and found them satisfactory, stressing that parents must ensure their children receive polio drops and fulfill their national duty.
