The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., organized a spiritually uplifting and dignified Milad ceremony on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, with a large number of Pakistani-American women participating in the event. A Milad gathering organized at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ reflected an atmosphere of devotion, respect and spirituality.
The ceremony was hosted by Lubna Rizwan Sheikh, wife of Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, while a large number of Pakistani-American women from the Washington metropolitan area participated in the event.
In her address, Lubna Rizwan Sheikh said that the blessed life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ carries a great message of mercy, justice, tolerance and brotherhood for all humanity. She emphasized that making the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ a part of daily life is the true expression of love and devotion toward him.
Speakers at the ceremony said that the message of peace, love and humanity conveyed by the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ continues to provide the best guidance for addressing the challenges facing the world today.
The gathering included recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat recitation and Durood-o-Salam, while special prayers were offered for the development, prosperity and security of Pakistan and for unity among the Muslim Ummah.
The ceremony was moderated by First Secretary Afraa Tariq. Participants appreciated Pakistan’s Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Lubna Rizwan Sheikh and the Embassy of Pakistan for continuing this spiritual tradition.
