On January 27, 2026, the Pakistani American Association of Greater Houston (PAAGH) proudly hosted a prestigious, energetic, and
well-attended oath-taking ceremony for its newly elected leadership. The event formally inducted the new Board of Directors, including Vice President Sara Khan, Joint Secretary Syed Arshad Iqbal, Treasurer Ali Ahmed Siddiqui, and Executive Committee Members Falak Paima Fatima Zehra, Arif Ali Syed, and Syed M. Nasir. The oath was administered by Judge Christian Becerra, adding honor and significance as the new leadership officially assumed their responsibilities.
The ceremony marked a historic milestone for PAAGH with the election of Sara Khan as Vice President, making her the first-ever elected woman Vice President in the Association’s history, as highlighted by PAAGH President Siraj Nasir. Another key highlight was the election of Syed Arshad Iqbal as Joint Secretary, a first for the Association. Described as a young, energetic, and dynamic leader, he is widely seen as having strong potential for future senior leadership roles.
Adding further pride to the occasion, Falak Zehra was elected for the second consecutive term as Director of PAAGH, reflecting the community’s continued trust in her dedication, commitment, and service. The event was filled with unity, celebration, and a vibrant, funfair-like atmosphere, symbolizing a promising new chapter for the Association.
The PAAGH community expressed hopes and prayers that, with the blessings of Allah Subhana Ta’alah, the old and new leadership will work together harmoniously, strengthen unity, and take the community to new heights—standing united as one community under one flag.
