. May 9 Case: Shah Mahmood Qureshi Acquitted; Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry and Other PTI Leaders Sentenced to 10 Years Imprisonment

Lahore — The Anti-Terrorism Court has announced its verdict in the high-profile May 9, 2023 case involving attacks on military and government installations. Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been acquitted of all charges.

However, senior PTI leaders including Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, Mian Aslam Iqbal, and Murad Raas have each been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The court held them responsible for the attack on Jinnah House.

The hearings were conducted under tight security. PTI has condemned the ruling, labeling it a politically motivated decision, and vowed to challenge the verdict in higher courts.
