French luxury brand Louis Vuitton continues its partnership with FIFA by creating a bespoke travel trunk for the iconic World Cup trophy, marking its fifth consecutive tournament.
Louis Vuitton has once again been entrusted with transporting football’s most prestigious prize, unveiling a custom-designed trunk for the FIFA World Cup Trophy ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at the New York–New Jersey Stadium.
The French luxury fashion house has created an elegant travel case that blends craftsmanship with sporting heritage, continuing a partnership that has become synonymous with the world’s biggest football tournament.
The handcrafted trunk features Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram canvas, highlighted by a striking gold “V”, representing both “Victory” and “Vuitton.” Gold-plated brass corner protectors add durability and luxury, while the interior is lined with premium beige leather to safeguard football’s most coveted trophy during its journey.
A commemorative patch inside the trunk celebrates the long-standing collaboration between Louis Vuitton and FIFA, reflecting more than a decade of shared commitment to excellence in global sport.
Fifth Consecutive FIFA World Cup Collaboration
The 2026 tournament marks the fifth straight FIFA World Cup for which Louis Vuitton has designed the official trophy trunk. The luxury brand previously created bespoke cases for the World Cup trophies presented in South Africa (2010), Brazil (2014), Russia (2018), and Qatar (2022).
The continued partnership reinforces Louis Vuitton’s growing presence in international sporting events, where luxury craftsmanship meets elite competition.
“For over a decade, Louis Vuitton and FIFA have shared an unwavering commitment to excellence, bound by a shared belief in sport’s power to inspire and bring people together,” said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.
Luxury Brands Strengthen Presence in Global Sports
Luxury fashion houses have increasingly aligned themselves with major sporting events, using iconic trophies to showcase their craftsmanship.
In addition to its FIFA partnership, Louis Vuitton designs exclusive trophy trunks for Formula 1 under a long-term agreement covering Grand Prix events worldwide.
Similarly, Tiffany & Co. has crafted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, awarded annually to the winners of the Super Bowl, since the championship’s inaugural game in 1967.
These collaborations reflect the growing connection between luxury brands and global sporting excellence.
Protecting Football’s Most Prestigious Prize
Unlike many sports trophies, there is only one authentic FIFA World Cup Trophy, making its transportation a highly secure and carefully managed process.
When not touring internationally or being presented to the world’s champions, the trophy is permanently housed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, Switzerland.
The specially crafted Louis Vuitton trunk not only protects the trophy during international travel but also symbolizes the prestige, history, and craftsmanship associated with football’s biggest prize.
As the countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final continues, the luxury trunk will accompany the iconic trophy to New York–New Jersey, where one nation will lift football’s ultimate prize and write its name into sporting history.
