Saudi political commentator praises Pakistan’s diplomatic role, highlighting trilateral cooperation amid evolving security challenges
JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia (Amir Muhammad Khan) — Renowned Saudi political commentator and prominent media personality Khaled Almaeena has described the Mecca Peace Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey as a defensive initiative aimed at promoting regional stability and international peace.
Speaking at an information session organized by the Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) in Jeddah, Almaeena said the agreement was not intended as an aggressive alliance but reflected the shared commitment of three influential countries to peace and security.
He praised Pakistan’s role in the agreement, saying the international community recognizes and values the country’s contribution to regional peace initiatives.

Almaeena highlighted the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting that both countries have consistently supported peace and stability, particularly in the Gulf region and across the wider international community.
He said modern warfare had entered a new phase, with drones, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies increasingly shaping security challenges. In this changing environment, he emphasized the importance of cooperation among countries committed to peace.
He added that stronger coordination among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey could help discourage conflict and encourage a more stable environment for economic growth and public welfare.
During the event, Pakistan Journalist Forum Chairman Amir Muhammad Khan, President Maroof Hussain and other members praised Almaeena for his outstanding contributions to journalism and his efforts to highlight Saudi Arabia’s international media presence, development initiatives and commitment to peace.
They also appreciated his longstanding friendship with Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that the Government of Pakistan previously honored Khaled Almaeena with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in recognition of his outstanding services to journalism.
Participants at the gathering included Jamil Rathore, Shahid Naeem, Asad Akram, Amanatullah, Maryam Shahid and other members of the Pakistan Journalist Forum.
Almaeena appreciated the forum’s initiative to arrange informative discussions on international affairs and suggested holding similar sessions every month with prominent Saudi personalities.
The gathering provided an opportunity for Pakistani journalists in Saudi Arabia to gain insights into regional and international developments and strengthen their engagement with leading Saudi media and public figures.
