LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, paid an official visit to Faisalabad, where he reviewed the facilities being provided to citizens under the Safe City Project, Tahaffuz Markaz and Police Khidmat Markaz.Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Safe City Project plays an excellent role in crime prevention, traffic management, environmental surveillance and the welfare of citizens through the Khidmat and Tahaffuz Centres.
During the visit, he was accompanied by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad Zeeshan Asghar, City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar, SSP Safe City Project Tariq Mehboob and other senior police officers. At the Safe City Command and Control Room, the IGP reviewed CCTV monitoring, response systems and the overall operational capacity of the project. On this occasion, RPO Zeeshan Asghar gave a detailed briefing to the IGP regarding the latest camera systems, command and control technology and modern monitoring tools being utilized under the Safe City initiative.RPO Faisalabad Zeeshan Asghar informed the IGP that since the operationalization of the Safe City Project, the rate of serious crimes in Faisalabad has decreased by 33%. He added that the project has significantly improved traffic surveillance, enabling immediate action on traffic violations and providing timely assistance during emergencies. The Safe City Project, he noted is strengthening crime prevention, traffic management and environmental surveillance through modern technological means, thereby playing an effective role in ensuring the safety of citizens and their property.IGP Dr. Usman Anwar directed that further improvements should be made in the monitoring system and that the use of advanced technology should be ensured to provide citizens with a safer and more secure environment.
Later, the IGP visited the Police Khidmat Markaz, where he inspected the facilities being provided to citizens, the quality of services, and the use of driving license simulators at the licensing branch. He also reviewed the performance of staff.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Police Khidmat and Tahaffuz Markaz are playing an excellent role in the welfare of citizens and reflect the people-friendly face of Punjab Police. He instructed the staff to serve the public with courtesy, professionalism and transparency to strengthen public trust in police services.
