TEXAS: In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office hosted the first-ever Fort Bend Community Iftar, marking a historic step toward strengthening relationships between local law enforcement and the community.

The Fort Bend Community Iftar was hosted by Constable Patrick Quincy, while the initiative and planning for the event were led by Advisory Board members Zaferan Bhatti and Jazar Wasim, who played a key role in organizing the successful gathering.

The Fort Bend Community Iftar brought together a diverse group of residents from different cultural and faith backgrounds, including a large number of Pakistani and South Asian Muslims observing Ramadan. The event aimed not only to share an iftar meal but also to promote dialogue, understanding, and cooperation between the community and law enforcement.

During the event, Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan addressed the attendees and highlighted the importance of building strong and respectful relationships with local communities. Commissioner Dexter L. McCoy and several other local leaders also attended the Fort Bend Community Iftar, praising the initiative as an excellent example of unity and intercultural harmony.

The program was hosted by Zaferan Bhatti, who served as the master of ceremonies. His professional hosting ensured the Fort Bend Community Iftar program ran smoothly and created a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

Reflecting the true spirit of Ramadan, participants gathered together to break their fast, and the evening concluded with the congregational Maghrib prayer. Many attendees described the Fort Bend Community Iftar as a meaningful step toward building trust, cooperation, and long-term community engagement in one of Texas’s most diverse counties.

Community members expressed hope that the Fort Bend Community Iftar will become an annual tradition that continues to strengthen the relationship between residents and law enforcement while celebrating unity during the holy month of Ramadan.
