Duki: Armed attack on construction company camp, one guard martyred, 12 laborers abducted, machinery torched

The security situation in Balochistan’s Duki district has once again become tense. In the Palari area of Nana Sahib Ziarat, unknown armed men attacked the camp of SMC Construction Company.
According to police and labor sources, dozens of armed miscreants suddenly stormed the camp and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result of the firing, one security guard of the company was martyred on the spot, while two persons, including a passerby, were injured and shifted to a nearby hospital.
The abducted laborers include poor laborers from different provinces.
While leaving, the attackers also set heavy construction machinery and 4 vehicles present in the camp on fire, causing heavy financial loss to the company.
As soon as the incident was reported, Deputy Commissioner Duki, district police and a heavy contingent of security forces reached the spot. Security personnel cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation to arrest the armed men and recover the abducted laborers.
Police officials say that further investigation into the incident is underway and the elements involved will soon be brought to justice.
