Toba Tek Singh: Deputy Commissioner Umar Abbas Mela inaugurated the third annual Begum & Chaudhry Faqir Muhammad Memorial two-day Free Eye Camp at Government ZCD Hospital Model Welfare Center No. 341 GB. On this occasion, former Chairman and Incharge Mian Arif Saeed, District Population Officer Mian Muhammad Naeem and Incharge Rescue 1122 Basharat Hameed were also present with him.The Deputy Commissioner inspected the facilities and stock of free check-ups, free surgeries and free medicines being provided at the camp. He reviewed the modern phaco laser technology being used for cataract (white and black cataract) surgeries without stitches and without injections. The camp has been established under the Health and Population Department in collaboration with the Public-Private Partnership.During the camp, eye examinations, surgical procedures and free medicines were provided to patients. Former Chairman and Incharge Mian Arif Saeed briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the arrangements and ongoing services.
Eye Surgeon Dr. Muhammad Imad Haider, Eye Specialist and Consultant at Allied Hospital Faisalabad along with Incharge Eye Unit ZCD Dr. Hina Nasir, successfully continued eye surgeries during the two-day free camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Umar Abbas Mela said that such camps play a vital role in providing quality eye care facilities to the public and that efforts to strengthen public service initiatives in the health sector will be further enhanced.
