In a bold daylight robbery, a gang of thieves stole eight pieces of France’s royal jewelry collection from the Louvre Museum in under seven minutes. The stolen items include Empress Eugénie’s tiara, her diamond bow brooch, and pieces from Napoleon’s wedding collection.
The heist occurred around 9:30 a.m., with two suspects disguised as construction workers. Four members of the group remain at large. Authorities believe the theft was carried out by an organized crime network, and experts warn the jewels could be melted down to hide their origin.
