Commissioner Faisalabad Reviews FDA Master Plan Draft at Key Meeting

Faisalabad:Under the developmental vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an important meeting was held at the FDA Complex, chaired by Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar to review the draft of the Faisalabad Master Plan prepared by the FDA. Director General FDA Asif Chaudhry briefed the attendees on the background, technical details, extensive studies conducted, and the current status of the plan. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Asif Chohan, Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rind, Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub, Directors Asma Mohsin, Junaid Hassan Manj, Yasir Ejaz Chattha and other officials.
Reviewing key aspects such as land-use zoning and future requirements for sustainable industrial, agricultural, educational, social and urban growth, the Commissioner emphasized that a master plan is a vital element for the organized and modern development of any city, making it indispensable to curb haphazard urban expansion. He noted that as Pakistan’s third-largest city and Punjab’s second-largest, Faisalabad is a primary focus for the Punjab government to ensure its development meets international standards. He further stated that a detailed assessment of the draft would be conducted to ensure its acceptability for all stakeholders, while environmental objections raised by the honorable court would be addressed to align the plan with future demands. Highlighting the need for proactive planning to accommodate a growing population and modern civic needs, the Commissioner directed officials to expedite departmental steps for final clearance.DG FDA assured that all necessary measures are being taken to resolve judicial concerns.
