Hundreds of Pakistani-American Muslims gathered in Baltimore, Maryland, to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in a spiritually uplifting celebration that highlighted devotion to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), unity within the Muslim community, and the enduring relevance of Islamic values in contemporary society.
The event drew worshippers, community leaders, business figures, families, and young people from across Maryland and neighboring states, transforming the gathering into one of the region’s most significant Milad observances.
A central highlight of the ceremony was the special address delivered by renowned Islamic scholar Hazrat Abu Haris Munawar Hussain Shah Jamaati, who traveled from Pakistan to participate in the celebrations. His inspiring speech focused on the life, teachings, and character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), emphasizing compassion, justice, tolerance, and service to humanity as the foundations of a peaceful and prosperous society.
Addressing the gathering, Shah Jamaati urged Muslims living abroad to remain connected to their faith, preserve their religious and cultural heritage, and pass on the values of the Seerah (Prophetic tradition) to future generations. He noted that the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) continue to offer practical guidance for addressing many of the moral and social challenges facing the modern world.
The celebration featured recitations of Naat, collective prayers, and expressions of reverence for the Prophet (PBUH), creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Baltimore’s Muslim community also organized decorative illuminations and festive displays, reflecting the significance of the occasion and the community’s commitment to preserving its religious traditions in the United States.
The event was supported by prominent Pakistani-American community and business leaders, including Hafiz Habib Ullah, Naeem Butt, and Gulsher Sahi, whose contributions were widely acknowledged by participants. Their efforts were praised for strengthening community engagement and promoting cultural and religious harmony.
Among the distinguished attendees was Ayesha Khan, a member of the Baltimore County Democratic Central Committee, whose participation was particularly welcomed by women and youth attending the event. Community members noted that such gatherings play an important role in fostering intergenerational connections and strengthening the identity of Muslim communities living abroad.
