26th Meeting of the State Defense Conference Held Under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Security Situation Reviewed
The 26th meeting of the State Defense Conference (Hardening of the State Conference) was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Bugti.
In the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the overall security situation in the province, ongoing measures against terrorism, and mutual cooperation between federal and provincial institutions for peace and stability.
The forum expressed satisfaction over the progress of the joint Operation Shaban (OP SHABAN) by the Pakistan Army, FC Balochistan, and Police in Balochistan and reiterated its resolve to continue operations against terrorist elements in a more effective manner.
The participants of the meeting paid tribute to the martyrs of Hanna Orak and Mangi Dam and expressed the resolve that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and that operations against terrorism for the peace and stability of Balochistan will continue with full force.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Bugti said that terrorism is a national issue, to tackle which the political and military leadership of the country is working jointly with the cooperation of the public.
He said that miscreants and their facilitators will be brought to their logical end and there is no place for anti-state elements in Balochistan.
The Chief Minister said that reform measures are being taken to make governance more effective in the province so that the performance of state institutions can be improved and the provision of better services to the public can be ensured.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti further said that the provincial government, in complete coordination with the security forces, is paying full attention not only to the establishment of law and order but also to the construction and development of Balochistan, especially development projects in remote and backward areas, because lasting peace and development are interlinked.
Representatives of federal and provincial institutions, law enforcement departments and security forces including Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Coast Guard, Police, FIA, Customs and other relevant institutions participated in the meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was reiterated that all relevant institutions will continue to perform their responsibilities under mutual cooperation and a coordinated strategy for peace, stability of the state’s writ, and protection of the people in Balochistan.
