A high-level law and order meeting chaired jointly by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti was held at the Chief Minister Secretariat on Monday, bringing together senior officials from federal and provincial institutions to review the security landscape of Balochistan. The meeting conducted a detailed assessment of the overall law and order situation, focusing on key challenges including the repatriation of Afghan refugees, elimination of hawala and hundi networks, eradication of extortion practices, and prevention of smuggling activities.
Senior officials, including representatives from National Database and Registration Authority, Federal Investigation Agency, National Counter Terrorism Authority, and the Federal Constabulary, presented detailed briefings on their respective operational performance and ongoing initiatives to curb illegal activities and strengthen institutional capacity. A key decision taken during the meeting was the deployment of the Federal Constabulary to reinforce security across the province. In the initial phase, two wings will be deployed, while nearly 3,000 personnel will gradually be stationed in sensitive areas to stabilize the law and order situation. The forum also resolved to enhance the effectiveness of the Federal Investigation Agency in Balochistan Security Meeting by filling all vacant posts with local recruits. This move is expected to not only strengthen operational capacity but also create employment opportunities for local youth. Both federal and provincial governments agreed on strict monitoring of anti-state activities on social media platforms. It was decided that legal action would be expedited against individuals involved in spreading propaganda against the state and national institutions or misleading the public.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured full cooperation from the federal government, emphasizing continued support to ensure peace, eliminate terrorism, and enhance the professional capacity of Balochistan Police through modern training and improved resources. He stated that all stakeholders are fully aware of the challenges faced by Balochistan and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to achieving lasting peace in the province. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti reiterated that the provincial government is taking decisive measures to eliminate terrorism and restore stability. He emphasized that the fight against terrorism is a collective national responsibility requiring unity across all segments of society.
He further asserted that the writ of the state will be enforced under all circumstances, with no compromise on the rule of law. Highlighting recent improvements, he noted that no highways are currently blocked under the pretext of protests, reflecting better governance and coordination among institutions. Both leaders concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to working in close coordination to ensure sustainable peace, strengthen the writ of the state, and safeguard the lives and property of citizens. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Provincial Assembly Member Mir Zia Langove, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqaat, Inspector General Police Balochistan Mohammad Tahir Khan, and other senior authorities.

The Balochistan Security Meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation and emphasized decisive action against anti-state activities and illegal networks.
