ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met a delegation of students from Harvard Business School during their visit to Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
The delegation included students from several countries. Their meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir focused on regional and global developments, Pakistan’s security situation and efforts to promote peace, stability and prosperity.
Asim Munir Highlights Education and Skills
During the interaction, Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the importance of education and skill development for young people.
He also highlighted the role of entrepreneurship and fact-based analysis in helping young people make meaningful contributions in an increasingly uncertain world.
The army chief noted that young people face growing challenges from social media and misinformation. He encouraged them to rely on facts and analytical thinking when assessing information and developments.
Harvard Students Appreciate Pakistan’s Hospitality
The Harvard Business School students shared their experiences from their ongoing visit to Pakistan.
According to ISPR, the students praised the warmth and openness of the Pakistani people. They also highlighted the country’s potential and the opportunities they observed during their visit.
The interaction provided an opportunity for the international students to learn more about Pakistan’s security outlook, regional challenges and economic potential.
Asim Munir’s Tehran Visit
The meeting comes days after Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Tehran as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help reduce tensions in the Middle East and Gulf region.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has rejected reports claiming that the army chief travelled to Iran as an envoy of US President Donald Trump.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan remains engaged with friendly countries to support efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing regional crisis.
He said Asim Munir visited Tehran on August 24 as part of Pakistan’s efforts to encourage de-escalation, help overcome the military deadlock and explore a negotiated settlement.
The visit was aimed at supporting efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.
