An important meeting regarding the repatriation of Afghan refugees was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Quetta Division, Zeeshan Lashari.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, Deputy Commissioner Quetta West Munir Ahmed Durrani, and officers from Police, FIA, Special Branch, Home Department, and the relevant agency of the United Nations.
During the briefing in the meeting, it was informed that so far, around 800,000 Afghan refugees have been sent back to Afghanistan from across the province, while more than 350,000 Afghan refugees from Quetta city alone have returned to Afghanistan voluntarily or as a result of administrative actions.
It was informed in the briefing that currently, about 23,000 Afghan refugees are present in Quetta city, for whose repatriation joint operations of the district administration, police, and FIA are underway.
Commissioner Quetta Zeeshan Lashari directed that to make the repatriation process more effective, coordination among institutions should be further improved and operations should continue in accordance with government orders and policy.
It was also decided in the meeting that guidance will be sought from the Home Department regarding Afghan refugees who re-enter Pakistan after returning, and in such cases, action will be taken in accordance with the law and government policy.
