Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail has said that weekly markets set up in the city should be regularly monitored and illegal encroachments established there should be removed immediately so that facilities can be provided to the citizens. He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting held in his office regarding temporary weekly markets set up across the city. Assistant Commissioner Maham Wahid, SDEO Para Force Noman Qaiser and Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed attended the meeting. During the meeting, the concerned officers gave a detailed briefing about the weekly markets set up in different areas of the city. Commissioner Sahiwal said that if the markets set up in the streets, squares and intersections cause traffic problems or hinder the movement of citizens, they should be shifted or removed immediately. He clarified that the administration’s top priority is to provide convenience to citizens and improve traffic flow in the city, and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
