A Global Salute in Houston: Saudi National Day Reception Celebrates Brotherhood and Future Progress

Houston TX: Houston: In a strong display of international solidarity, numerous Consul Generals from across the globe, alongside key Houston officials and community leaders, converged in Houston to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.The prestigious reception, hosted by His Excellency Consul General Shafi Al-Atibi and the Saudi Consulate team, was attended by a distinguished roster, including the Honorable Muhammad Aftab Chaudhry, Consul General of Pakistan, and Saeed Sheikh, President of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association. They were joined by the Consul Generals of Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Indonesia, Germany, Turkey, Bahrain, and Bangladesh, underscoring the event’s significant diplomatic weight.
Saeed Sheikh offered heartfelt congratulations to the Saudi leadership and people, focusing on the country’s impressive achievements and expressing confidence in its “brighter future.” He specifically highlighted the “enduring brotherhood” between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, a relationship rooted in shared history and values, while also acknowledging the critical role of evolving U.S.-Saudi ties as a pillar for global stability and prosperity.
The event, which saw the presence of Ms. Gigi Lee, Chief of the Mayor’s Office of Trade and International Affairs, and U.S. State Department officials, served as a powerful testament to the Kingdom’s vital position on the global stage.
