Islamic Circle of North America’s humanitarian organization, Helping Hand, has announced nearly $15 million (approximately 1.5 billion PKR) in aid for recent flood victims in Pakistan. Speaking at the event, President Mohsin Ansari highlighted that the organization is active in 80 countries and that its annual budget for Pakistan has increased from $12 million to $17 million. He emphasized that relief for affected families remains their top priority.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, praised the donation, noting that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change. He stressed that alongside immediate relief, the support of the Pakistani community in rehabilitation and reconstruction is crucial.
The ambassador also appealed to the Pakistani-American community and philanthropists to contribute generously to help as many families as possible.
