
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the United Nations Headquarters.
During the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s strong support for multilateralism and the UN’s pivotal role in conflict resolution, sustainable development, and safeguarding fundamental rights. He highlighted Pakistan’s initiatives during its Presidency of the UN Security Council, emphasizing efforts to promote multilateral cooperation and enhanced UN-OIC collaboration.
The Deputy Prime Minister also raised critical national and regional issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and violations of the Indus Waters Treaty. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestinian statehood, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and condemned Israel’s illegal annexation plans in the West Bank.
