President of Punjab Bodybuilding Association Naeem Akhtar Removed After Successful No-Confidence Motion

(By Mohammad Amin Islamabad)

Lahore — Naeem Akhtar has been removed from his position as President of the Punjab Bodybuilding Association following the successful passage of a no-confidence motion backed by an overwhelming majority.

The crucial meeting was held on Monday, July 21, at the Yahya Sports Office of the Punjab Bodybuilding Association in Lahore. It was attended by senior office-bearers, presidents and secretaries from all divisions, members, and the General Council.

Prominent participants included Nabeel Ahmed (Secretary General, Punjab Bodybuilding Association), Zubair Butt (President, Rawalpindi Bodybuilding Association and Vice President, Punjab), Masood Aziz (Associate Secretary, Punjab, and General Secretary, Lahore Division), Mir Shafiq Awan (Vice President, Punjab and President, Dera Ghazi Khan), Ali Awan (Vice President, Punjab), Imran Akbar (Vice President, Punjab and General Secretary, Faisalabad Division), Muhammad Shahid (President, Faisalabad), Sanaullah (President, Sargodha), Ali Raza (General Secretary, Sargodha), Akram Khan (President, Bahawalpur), Laiq-ur-Rehman (General Secretary, Bahawalpur), Haji Sadaqat Ansari (President, Multan Division), Muhammad Shoaib Pathan (Dera Ghazi Khan Division), and Agha Kamran (General Secretary, Rawalpindi).

During the meeting, Mir Shafiq Awan presented the resolution against Naeem Akhtar. Secretary General Nabeel Ahmed conducted a vote, and the General Council unanimously approved the motion, officially removing Naeem Akhtar from his position.

The allegations against Naeem Akhtar include convening an unconstitutional meeting in recent days, where representatives of a parallel association from across Punjab were reportedly involved in making unauthorized decisions. All council members rejected that meeting, declaring it in violation of the association’s constitution.

Following the session, members submitted the proceedings to the office of the Director General Sports Board and formally requested immediate disciplinary action against the former president.

This marks a significant shift in the leadership of the Punjab Bodybuilding Association, and further developments are expected in the coming days.
