Quetta (Syed Sardar Mohammad Khondai) — Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey has alleged that JUI is being deliberately targeted.
He said the party’s elected representatives are also facing harassment in the name of the Fourth Schedule.
Maulana Abdul Wasey made the remarks while addressing a press conference in Quetta. JUI Balochistan General Secretary Syed Agha Maulana Mehmood Shah, Maulana Kamaluddin and other party leaders also attended the press conference.
JUI Being Deliberately Targeted Over Fourth Schedule
Maulana Abdul Wasey said Senator Abdul Shakoor Khan Ghabizai was stopped from travelling to China. Officials reportedly told him that his name was included in the Fourth Schedule.
He said a similar incident later occurred with Balochistan Assembly member Zahid Reki. According to Maulana Abdul Wasey, Reki was also stopped from travelling abroad.
The JUI leader said the administration later described both incidents as mistakes.
He demanded action against the officials responsible. He said the government should investigate the role of the Home Secretary, Chief Secretary or any other responsible official.
Maulana Abdul Wasey said apologies alone were no longer enough.
The JUI Balochistan leader claimed that thousands of citizens had been placed on the Fourth Schedule. He also alleged that some citizens had their identity cards blocked.
He further claimed that citizens were being placed on the list over allegations linked to poppy cultivation.
Maulana Abdul Wasey questioned the process. He said that if authorities have evidence against anyone, they should register an FIR and proceed according to law.
Maulana Abdul Wasey also expressed concern over the security situation in Balochistan. He said terrorism had increased and that people were facing serious difficulties.
He also raised concerns about Afghan refugees and people arriving from Afghanistan. According to him, the province needs a clear policy on the issue.
Meanwhile, he said creating new provinces would not produce good results in an environment of distrust.
Maulana Abdul Wasey announced that JUI would strengthen its political activities across Balochistan. He said the party would organize public meetings and conventions in every district from November.
