🌱🇵🇰 Third National Bamboo Conference Held at Baba Guru Nanak University, Lahore
Alhamdulillah, the Third National Bamboo Conference was held at Baba Guru Nanak University, Lahore, bringing together tree lovers, environmental activists, experts, and people passionate about environmental protection from all four provinces of Pakistan.
The conference also had an international presence, with participants joining from Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, and other countries, making it a meaningful platform for sharing ideas and promoting environmental awareness beyond borders.
On this occasion, Shahroz Siraj, popularly known as “Tree Man of Pakistan,” from Karachi was specially invited to participate in the conference. In recognition of his services to tree plantation and environmental protection, he was honored with the “Green Hero Award.” 🏆🌳
During his address, Shahroz Siraj highlighted that climate change is one of the major challenges facing the world today. He said that if we consider activities such as tree plantation, water conservation, and environmental protection not only as our worldly responsibility but also as a means of seeking goodness in the Hereafter, these efforts can benefit us in both this world and the Hereafter.
He further emphasized that protecting the environment, planting trees, and conserving water are not only important from a worldly perspective; Islam also teaches us to protect the Earth, conserve water, and fulfill our responsibilities toward natural resources.
Shahroz Siraj also expressed his special gratitude to Tariq Tanveer Bhai, whose continuous efforts have helped keep this beautiful initiative alive for the past three years, with the Bamboo Conference being organized every year.
He also thanked the conference management, Imtiaz Bhai and Ghulam Rasool Bhai, for their dedicated efforts to encourage tree lovers across Pakistan, highlight their work, and bring them together on a common platform.
The conference served as a beautiful example that environmental protection and tree plantation have no boundaries. People from different provinces of Pakistan, along with participants from other countries, came together with a shared vision of creating a greener and healthier future.
