Attock Food Controller Takes Action Over Non-Availability of Pateeri Roti

The District Food Controller Attock, Chaudhry Shams Abbas, has taken notice of complaints regarding the non-availability of Pateeri Roti at tandoors across Attock city and summoned the president of the Tandoor Association, Nadir Khan, for a detailed discussion on the issue.

During the meeting, matters related to the availability of Pateeri Roti, officially notified prices, and the supply of flour to tandoor owners were discussed in detail.

Media representatives were also present on the occasion, including Pakistan Journalist Association Attock District President Tariq Mahmood, District Coordinator Faheem Nemat Khattak, former Attock Press Club Chairman Sheikh Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Sabreen and Javed Pindi Gheb.

District Food Controller Chaudhry Shams Abbas issued a clear warning to the Tandoor Association president, stating that any shortage of Pateeri Roti would not be tolerated. He directed that Pateeri Roti must be made available to citizens according to the official price list issued by the district administration and the Price Control Committee.

He further warned that action would be taken against tandoor owners who fail to provide bread at the officially fixed price.

According to the instructions, Pateeri Roti must be sold at Rs18, while Naan must be available at Rs30. Tandoor owners found charging prices higher than the officially notified rates will not be given any concession, the District Food Controller said.

Chaudhry Shams Abbas also stated that flour supplies to all tandoors in the city would continue without interruption according to the quota fixed by the Punjab government. He said the uninterrupted supply of flour was intended to ensure that citizens could purchase bread at the officially approved prices without facing unnecessary difficulties.

Tandoor Association President Nadir Khan assured the administration that the association would comply with the official instructions and take all necessary steps to ensure the availability of Pateeri Roti to citizens at the prescribed price.

The administration has reiterated that strict monitoring will continue to ensure compliance with official food prices and the availability of essential bread items for the public.
