RPO Rawalpindi Holds Open Court in Hassan Abdal, Orders Immediate Action on Public Complaints

Hassan Abdal: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa held an open court at the TMA Hall in Hassan Abdal under the Punjab government’s Open Door Policy, providing citizens with an opportunity to directly present their complaints and issues.

District Police Officer Attock Captain (Retd.) Ali Bin Tariq was also present on the occasion.

A large number of citizens from Attock district attended the open court and presented various complaints, applications and requests before the RPO. Babar Sarfraz Alpa listened to their concerns with patience and directed the relevant officers to take immediate action and resolve the complaints on merit.

He also sought progress reports on several applications within specified timeframes and instructed police officers not to keep citizens’ complaints pending unnecessarily.

The RPO emphasized that providing citizens with justice without discrimination and strictly according to merit is among the Punjab Police’s top priorities. He said the purpose of open courts is to strengthen direct communication between the public and police, listen to citizens’ problems and ensure their timely and effective resolution.

He further directed police officers to deal with citizens respectfully and responsibly and ensure that every complaint is handled in accordance with the law.

“Protecting the lives and property of citizens and providing them with a safe and peaceful environment is a fundamental responsibility of the police,” he said, adding that negligence or carelessness in this regard would not be tolerated.

RPO Inspects City Police Station Hassan Abdal

Later, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited City Police Station Hassan Abdal, where he conducted a detailed inspection of various sections of the station.

He inspected the front desk, lock-up, official records and other relevant areas and reviewed the station’s administrative and investigation-related affairs.

The RPO also examined the facilities being provided to citizens and reviewed police records. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that citizens visiting the police station are treated with dignity and respect, their complaints are heard on a priority basis and legal action is taken promptly.

Babar Sarfraz Alpa instructed police officers and personnel to utilize all available resources to prevent crime, ensure merit-based investigations, address public grievances and improve the overall standard of policing.

He said the true measure of police performance is the justice, protection and facilitation provided to citizens. He directed all officers and personnel to perform their duties with dedication, honesty and professionalism.
