Negotiations Between Balochistan Government and Traders Successful, Shutter-Down and Wheel-Jam Strike of August 7 and 8 Cancelled

Negotiations between the government and the traders’ community, held between Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau and Anjuman-e-Tajiran President Syed Abdul Rahim Agha, have been successful. The shutter-down and wheel-jam strike announced for August 7 and 8 has been called off.
Earlier, an important meeting of the Transport Department was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in which the Secretary Transport briefed the Chief Minister on departmental matters.
Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that all resources will be utilized to resolve the issues of the traders’ community and transporters in Balochistan, and steps are being taken to make the routes secure.
Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau said that various operations are being carried out to secure travel routes and national highways in Balochistan and the operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated. He termed the reports of curfew and threat alerts as baseless, saying that there is no such thing, however, providing protection to passengers, the traders’ community and transporters is the foremost responsibility of the government.
On this occasion, Syed Abdul Rahim Agha and other leaders accompanying him termed the successful negotiations with the government as a result of the unity of the traders’ community and announced that there will be no strike on August 7 and 8.
