Sit-in Against Ziarat Tragedy Continues, Protest Demonstrations Across Balochistan Including Chaman

The protest sit-in by the families of the martyrs of the Ziarat tragedy continued on Wednesday as well. A deadlock persists between the government committee and the sit-in committee on certain points. The round of negotiations held last night ended without any declaration, however, the process of negotiations is still ongoing.
Yesterday, the sit-in was addressed by Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Chairman Khushal Khan Kakar, Pashtun Democratic Movement chief Mohsin Dawar, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Provincial Ameer Maulana Abdul Wasey, Awami National Party Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai, Nasrullah Khan Zerey, Adil Khan Bazai, Balochistan’s prominent writer and journalist Syed Anwar Shah, along with leaders of the traders’ community, lawyers’ community and Hazara community.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers said that the sit-in against the Ziarat tragedy will continue until all demands are accepted. They said that the families of the martyrs have shown immense courage and bravery by placing the bodies of their loved ones in the sit-in, and this sacrifice has been made to secure our future.
Meanwhile, in support of the central sit-in ongoing in Quetta, massive protest demonstrations were held in the border town of Chaman and in various Pashtun and Baloch districts of Balochistan. The protesters were carrying placards and banners and demanded the restoration of law and order and the immediate acceptance of all demands of the sit-in.
The sit-in committee has also announced a shutter-down strike across Balochistan on July 17th.
